Recycle Sunday: July 25

Bring your Cans to the Commerce Street Parking Lot by Noon

We believe recycling begins with one step and we challenge everyone to recycle aluminum cans. Every time you enjoy a Coke, or anything else that comes in a can, save the empty can. Instead of pitching in the garbage where it is thrown away into the oblivion of waste, toss it into a plastic sack. Then, on the fourth Sunday of the month bring your cans to the church.

This simple act of saving empty cans to recycle at the church has a huge impact. Every one of those cans is 100% recyclable. In less than 60 days every can we recycle will be back on the store shelf. This not only reduces consumer waste, but also saves energy and creates less water pollution.

But there’s more! Every can is worth about a penny. A penny doesn’t sound like a lot to you and me, but when you get a lot of pennies together you start to get dollars. When you bring your old, empty cans to the church we recycle them and raise money to help people in our community. Already this year we have raised over 500 dollars from recycling aluminum cans. Just think what we could do if everyone pitched in!

Imagine: Your trash could literally feed or clothe or house someone in need. Just save your cans, whatever kind of can, and bring them to the church on the fourth Sunday of the month. It's that simple.
