Roy began as our senior pastor on June 27, 2010. Previously he served as Director of Ministries for the 700 United Methodist Churches in Arkansas. He loved his work in the Conference office. However, he is delighted to be back serving as pastor of a local church. Roy's passions in the church are preaching and helping to connect persons to God and to one another. Making connection has been the hallmark of his ministry. Roy was reared in Pine Bluff and graduated from Hendrix College before attending seminary at Duke University. (Yes, he is an avid fan of the Duke Blue Devils' basketball team.) Roy is married to Sandy who is an RN. She has worked as a nursing professor,a hospice nurse and as a wellness consultant. Their daughter Martha is a student at the University of the Ozarks. Their son Andrew and his wife Rachel live in Dallas. Mattie and Molly, Roy and Sandy's golden retrievers, keep life lively at home.
